I maintain a WalaWala style wiki and have been looking for a significant upgrade. EverWiki I am interested in your formatting tags, what is considered what

I also wonder if OddMuse? Wiki can be a used as a general CMS or if I really need to invest in something like WebGUI?

If this works out, maybe I can stop putting post-it notes on my laptop. I’d like to have a place to store useful information and have common access

8/25/06:

To start a new paragraph, press Enter twice. Otherwise, the next line will continue where the last one ends, with a space after the last sentence’s final punctuation mark (as here--the sentence to which the current phrase is a parenthesis starts on a new line, but appears in the same paragraph as the sentence that begins “To start a new paragraph…”.

Whereas this sentence starts after a blank line.

Numbered lists seem to be created by hash marks (if “hash mark” is what this mark [#] is called).

One # (at the beginning of a row, left margin) expresses as 1 dot space. The next line, also starting with one #, takes the next consecutive number in the list. Two # makes an indent and starts a new numbered list. Put the text on the same line as the hash mark, separated by a space. To stop a list, insert a new line and don’t start it with #--and type text; otherwise the list continues with the next properly-placed #. If the # isn’t the first character at the start of the next margin, it looks just like the character.

  1. List 1, item 1
  2. List 1, item 2
    1. Sublist 1, item 1
    2. Sublist 1, item 2
      1. Sub-sublist 1, item 1
      2. Sub-sublist 1, item 2

Intervening text, without which the list continues…

  1. List 2, item 1
  2. List 2, item 2
    1. Sublist 2, item 1
    2. Sublist 2, item 2

You put the wrong emphasis on the wrong syllable

very bolded

now we'll try italics and underlined

  1. List 1
  2. List 2, item 1
    1. Sublist 2, item 1

bold

very bold

*even bolder*
