Have you noticed that Status shows a gazillion wikis as deleted, but they are never really deleted? It seems that the IP 216.254.10.130, Speakeasy Network, keeps visiting them, keeping them alive. Pretty amazing. I think I will block this IP and see what happens. – Alex

I think I fixed this. The maintenance script was responsible for it: After deleting the namespaces, the maintenance and despam action were called for all namespaces, ressurecting them with at least a temporary directory (with no pages in it). If you check your Administration links at the bottom of your pages you'll find two new links in the list. These point to the reports for both maintenance and despam action. – Alex
